Gerhardt M. Nielsen is an associate of the firm. He has 29 years of experience as a trial and appellate advocate. Mr. Nielsen has tried medical malpractice cases in New York, Connecticut and North Carolina. His background includes fighting for the rights of the indigent as a staff attorney at the Legal Aid Society. He represented hundreds of injured plaintiffs in medical malpractice, negligence, product liability and fraud claims. In the past Mr. Nielsen also represented major banks, oil companies, retailers, and other corporations at trial and on appeal. He has recovered settlements for injured plaintiffs in the millions of dollars. He was awarded an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, in recognition of having achieved the highest levels of legal ability and integrity.
Mr. Nielsen is admitted to practice in New York, and the United District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.
He is a member of New York State Trial Lawyers Association.
Mr. Nielsen obtained his law degree with distinction from Hofstra University School of Law, where he was also a managing editor for Hofstra Law Review. He obtained his undergraduate degree from New College of Hofstra University where he graduated magna cum laude, with department honors, and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
